No video?
@The Advanced Kind
That's an absurd amount of apple news... but I guess it's warranted since there are no other stories this week. Le sigh...
Nice Picture JOSH
No video? What is this, 2003?
@The Advanced Kind Yeah, that's not fair! I've just got like 10 min. of it!!
@The Advanced Kind
there's really nothing to see except 3 faces talking, I'm sure you can visualize it.
@The Advanced Kind all i got from this podcast is these guys don't really know that much of what they are talking about.

skip to 9:30... seriously engadget, put this up, for real... in like 640x480 h.264 would be fine, anything.
there's no video?
Wow, unflattering illustration of Josh is.. unflattering.
@jellotime91
Also, Nilay, when you said your 3GS was done after 5 hours of phone calls, that sounds about right because the 3GS is rated for 5 hours of 3G talk time... So... It's not 4.0, you just used the entire battery on phone calls.
love the JPEG
Love the Kraftwerk reference
@tchalikias
"iPhone 4 and EVO star, FBI and Scotland Yard, iOS 4 has gone too far, Jobsee, he can't get it right, COMPUTER WORLD"
How long does it usually take iTunes to get the podcast up?
Will be fun!!
Will the video be posted?
Just finished listening ( I love to url sniff early)
I thought its been well know that AT&T Drops a lot of calls because iphone was the first phone to disconnect its data connection when not in use to save battery, and apparently establishing that connection is very intensive on a network. Older phones just left that connection live for long periods of time as they didn't have the battery concerns (moto razr). Just think every time your iphone drops a call its cause 3 other iphones are launching safari or google maps.
Android phones come with that always on data connection enabled for the reason that carriers would prefer that and hope the majority of their users don't ever find that setting and realize how much battery life it saves you.
Glad I caught it live, seems you'll have to live without video otherwise...
Awe you should put the video up next time.
Companies playing catchup regarding the Gyro? Really? Does apple manufacture the Gyro? As with the VAST majority of the hardware components in the iPhone 4, the hardware is bought from 3rd parties which means that if other companies buy Gyros, they're not really copying, are they? They're being COMPETITIVE.
PHOTON TORPEDOES!
BTDubs, They said aluminosilicate glass has the same hardness as sapphire crystal. The sapphire crystal coating on my HD2 is great for scratches, but weaksauce on drops.
Regarding the Pixel Density, Paul is right on the money. Increased density means sharper fonts, crisper lines, etc.
However, although while it *could* mean more on the screen, it likely will not. As the screen is 3.5", and apples attention to detail, smaller icons/fonts would make things harder to read on the small 3.5" screen.
Thus the screen size is the major bottleneck in 'screen real-estate' with the iphone4.
Well at least they listed the amount of Apple crap they discussed so I knew not to listen.
Thanks for that at least.
@Air Force One It's so weird how you just hate a company. What did they do to you -- exactly?
@Joshua Topolsky it suddenly became 'uncool' to enjoy Apple products
@Joshua Topolsky
Hi Josh
It's not so much I "hate" Apple, their products just are not for me. Yes I can be an Android fanboy, but let's be clear: I'm also the Air Force One that flamed Google all week on their support board and finally got them to respond about the Froyo official release delay. I'm not blindly loyal to Android, nor do I have blind hate for Apple. I freely admit, that had it not been for Apple, none of us would have nearly the cool smartphones that we do currently. I commend them for that and acknowledge that they are industry leaders and innovators.
BUT, if you're not an Apple owner, but love Engadget, it can get tedious here sometimes, and it's only natural that opinions will begin to be posted. Maybe I should try and control it some: I will give it a try, and try and be more fair.
Just for the record: I listen to all of Engadget's podcasts. I really enjoy them. I was just genuinely disappointed to see so much Apple stuff in the directory list. It meant I wouldn't hear you guys discuss Android as much as I would like. So yeah, I was a little bummed. I'll get over it.
I'll listen to the podcast now just to try and be open-minded. :)
@Joshua Topolsky
I could show you but i'd need a doll
congrats on #200... best tech podcast available... along with gdgt
BTW, "You ain't seen nothin' yet" is BTO not J. Geils. J. Geils sang "Centerfold".
Just watched it.Loved it!! They were making fun of those crazy android fanboi's cum conspiracy theorists!!
Congrats with 200th podcast!
So are we going to get the video of this podcast or what?
when do you expect the itunes version to be up?
@gadgetPr0n I know it's taking forever.
Today's picture is pure Kraft-win.
its not in itunes
Somebody refresh the aac rss feed.
@AdamSulli Yeah, it's not appearing in Google Reader, either, and my Podcatcher is dependent on that.
iPhone Fanboys talking about iPhone.
Best music ever!
Love the Engadget 3 putting the conspiracy theorists in their place. The fact that they have to bring it up repeatedly is a bit sad.
this podcast looks to be filled with i technology
Wow. A lot of readers are haters....what's up with that ?
I enjoy the comedic aspect of the podcast. Listening to GDGT makes me listen to NPR 24/7
Congratulations on the 200th podcast. I caught it live! Do the TWIT thing again...that was good...
Love the Pic!
About the retina display you left out the most important consequence: the apps written for iPhone will look much better on the ipad, as the resolution is almost the same.
Also nobody mentions that, at least in Europe, there is an obligation to use an standard battery charger connector, which is the micro USB, but Apple did not use it. Maybe because it is not mandatory yet, I am not sure.
Regarding AT&T having a boatload of money: take a look at AT&T's debt: http://www.google.com/finance?q=NYSE:T&fstype=ii
$69.5 Billion debt last quarter. That's a lot of money.
Looks like they'll be nickel-and-diming us ($0.25/text message) for a long time...
