Lenovo's Skylight and U1 Hybrid being revived with fresh Qualcomm silicon?
What's this? A new sliver of hope in a dark, lost world? Before you throw your hands up and shut your eyes, you should know that all of this is coming from Digitimes, so taking it all in with an unhealthy dose of salt is highly suggested. According to them, Lenovo is actually planning to eventually ship its Skylight and IdeaPad U1 Hybrid (yeah, the two machines that were kinda-sorta shelved a month ago), but with far different specifications. For starters, they'll rely on Qualcomm's recently announced dual-core processor line, and rather than using the now-nonexistent Skylight OS, they'll both rely on Google's Android. If all goes well, the official launch will occur before the dawn of 2011, but there's no solid word on when they'll actually ship. In related news, there's also word that Toshiba will be readying a smartbook in its long-standing Dynabook line, with NVIDIA's Tegra 250 under the hood, a 10.1-inch panel and Android running the show. Now, who's up for seeing if any of this actually comes to fruition?

I love the U1 hybrid w/ android!
@Draper now if only somebody could revive courier
*sob*
@Draper i love the inverse TN panel on that piece of *rap
@Draper I would love that too. Windows 7 full notebook + Android tablet in one!
But they must include a good video playing application (e.g. VLC) for Android, doc app and better music app for this to be a well functioning Android tablet
@Formul Augh! Yes, why are all the new tablets using TN panels? Even the TM2 by HP. It's frustrating that the only company to put in a nice screen is Apple, because that means using the really limited iPad. They've proven people will pay more for quality...
The killer app for tablets seems to be "being for sale".
Android android everywhere!
借這裡寶地問一下大家,為什麼我在android的菜場裡找不到Google Earth了?
Why i can no longer find google earth in the android market ???
@Orion
Cause china hates google*
An freedom and smart people and independence and more
@DefPoet Sounds like the US sine 2008... Badabing!
@DrScope dude, i love bush too!
Nice massive iPod touch Lenovo!
I would rather have this than an iPad
Someone wake me up... This is not iphone related article.
@cdf74dc9 You do realize there have been a dozen Android-related articles the past 24 hours or so, right?
@mlayer
I'm sorry let me reinstated. Someone wake me up... It's not an Android related article.
Happy now?
Releasing early 2011 would mean competing with the next gen Ipad (january) and everyone knows how apple and the press builds up the hype on every iDevice. Lenovo should release it sooner.
crappy TN display on the tablet ftl
Question is, Will it Blend?
wasn't there a recent engadget article about that very same Toshiba/Tegra 2 smartbook?
The person that wrote the title of the article needs to have their eyes checked!
I hope the Lenovo dual computer comes out. i actually felt this was a great idea....
Go for MeeGo instead... then you would have two real OSes in the same computer. And thanks to QT, be able to run some of the same apps.
Sure at this poin Android has more apps, but they are not made for that kind of screen... and Google still has not approved Tablets with android, so you wont access the market anyway. And if Gingerbread rumors are true, they would still have to change the resolution.
Go for MeeGO.
Or if you dont close the system, let me install MeeGo.
Then I really want it.
With android, its only so and so.
Soon will come a IPAD accessory that is based on the product of Lenovo
