Difference is, the iPhone 4's camera produces an image quality higher than just about all other competitive smartphones with an 8 MP sensor. We'll have to wait and see if this Droid's camera is better than it's predecessors mediocre one.
@TheMan70 From what I've read, the Droid 2 is supposed to be almost identical to the Droid 1 in terms of size and appearance. It's the internals that are getting the upgrade.
Just stick a droid image under photoshop or gimp. Or use Android's image post-enhancements. Done.
In the end, it's all about the lens with these camera phones. And iphone and droids all pretty much suck when it comes to lens compared to a normal camera.
not just about image processing. there is a point where too many pixels can be a bad thing. the sensor becomes overcrowded and it begins to have the reverse effect.....8mp is pushing it for sensors at this size. that is a big reason why the iphone is working so much better in lowlight w/ 5mp than those phones w/ 8mp. too many pixels on the chip.

how big is the screen? Any Specs yet?
@TheMan70
Was expecting more than a 5mp camera. It seems so yesterday... and its not even out yet.
@Did I miss something
Iphone 4 has one. Just saying.
It has the same internal specs as the Droid X but with a 3.7 inch screen, physical keyboard and 5MP camera.

It looks like a 3.5" screen. But if I lower my screen resolution, it definitely looks closer to 4.7".

@Did I miss something 2 years ago I would have shat myself if there was a 5mp camera in a phone! Not that I am not satisfied with my 8mp :)
