Samsung's SyncMaster 711T 17-inch LCD with 1000:1 contrast ratio

Samsung have released a new 17-inch monitor, the SyncMaster 711T.  Yawn, we know, another 17-inch monitor.  But wait!  The news is that it boasts a 1000:1 contrast ratio, which is pretty darn nice for a TFT-LCD monitor.  This spells good things for LCD in the near future, including those made for entertainment viewing.  LCD has been a great technology, but its contrast ratios have left much to be desired in the past. 
The 711T sports a 0.264mm pixel pitch and 1280 x 1024 resolution.
