Adesso's new line of UMAX digital cameras
Adesso recently unveiled a whole slew of new entry-level digital cameras from UMAX (the two companies formed a partnership last year). You can tell they're entry-level cause they're marketing them using interpolated megapixel numbers, so if you're serious about digital photography avert your eyes now. The UMAX AstraCam DV350,
UMAX AstraPix 680 (seen at right), UMAX PowerCam Z530, UMAX PowerCam Z432 and UMAX AstraPix 620 range from 2 megapixel to 5 megapixel (that's real megapixels, not that interpolated crap) and hit price points fom $149.99 to $399.99.
All of the cameras use SD cards expandable to 512MB except for the "top end" PowerCam Z530, which has a CF card slot that maxes out at 1GB. It's also the only one of the bunch that has an optical zoom. They should all be available now at the usual retailers.
