RCA/Thompson's new Lyra 2812

Last time we leered at a Lyra (okay, maybe it was more like jeered at a Lyra) it was at
CES, and was to be their first color-screened iPod mini competitor—and what do you know, looks like it's almost out, found appearing online in Europe. The $400 (after Euro conversion) Lyra 2812 is nowhere near its 40GB sub-$200
older brother, but the unit will sport a 5GB drive, MP3 and WMA playback, and that 1.5-inch 128 x 128 pixel 65k color display can be used to view JPEGs. We don't really see how they're going to have a shot against the iPod mini at that price—photo screen or not—or with that industrial design, but if they want to add DivX and/or MPEG-2/4 support,
then we'll talk.
