Braille mouse-like computer display

Normally, displays for the visually impaired are rather on the large and expensive side. Many actuators are used to create these refreshable tactile displays with 20 – 80 braille cells, each with eight pins that can be raised or lowered to represent braille points. The Braille mouse takes a different approach, simulating the larger display in a much smaller form factor by employing a rotating disc. The braille cells live inside a mouse-like case, with a reading window inside to allow users to feel the characters on the disc. An activation mechanism below the disc brings the braille pins into the correct orientation.
