Magna Vee flash attachment improves digicam shots
It's a given that the stock flash in most compact digital cameras is crap. What to do? The Red Ferret Journal has given the Magna Vee flash attachment a shot, and pronounces it worthy of consideration. The Magna Vee is a pretty low cost (about $15) unit that fits onto the front of your existing digicam flash to provide a color-corrected "soft flash"
that can balance some of the harsh blues favored by low-end digicams. TRFJ found the included mounting bracket a bit cumbersome, but it was not terribly difficult to rig up a homebrew mounting solution for the Magna Vee. Of course, it's not terribly convenient to remember to lug around yet another extra piece of gear with your "portable" digicam, but if you fall into that slightly-more-concerned-than-the-casual-photographer demographic, this little device might come in handy.
