Researchers: Laser printers can cut paper

French researchers have found that lasers could be used in desktop printers to cut paper, in addition to printing.
The trick is using paper that's pre-printed with light-absorbing ink at the points where cutting should occur. The advance could allow printers to more easily print and cut labels, cards and other odd-sized media, not to mention new varieties of printer sushi.
