The latest EA Sports storm in a teacup

Last week, there was some consternation that EA Sports seemed to have acquired the exclusive rights to the NHL. Just how you acquire exclusive rights to a league who haven't played in over a year is beyond me, but hey, this is EA here.

The official website even went so far as to say exclusive. However, it's since turned out to be a mistake, and has now been replaced with the word official. 2K Games have also chimed in and pointed out they'll be putting out an NHL game as well.

The point of the story? It's amazing the fuss that stirs up when someone makes just a little mistake. Or there is more to this than meets the eye, and, for a little while, EA thought they had another exclusive? We'll never know.
