Sony's MDR-CX1W iPod case

They're certainly not publicizing it as an iPod case, but Sony has announced the "MDR-CX1W" integrated earphone/audio player case for Japanese release. The specifications list it as accomodating players up to 4.13 x 2.48 x 0.78-inches in size. Because the 60GB iPod Color measures 4.1 x 2.4 x 0.75-inches, it's quite difficult to call this a coincidence — but who said becoming an accessory vendor for your competitors was a bad thing? The CX1W will be available white, black, green and pink variations for around ¥6,195 (roughly $55 USD).
