Turn your HDTV into a work of art
Since we commented earlier today about the lack of HD content available, we figured we would help you get more use out of your digital set. Consider turning your HDTV into a dynamic work of art with the Roku PhotoBridge High-Def Media Player.
At $299, the PhotoBridge is geared towards viewing your digital pictures in high def on your set, although you can also play digital video and music via your home network. Hook up your PhotoBridge to your wired or wireless network and you've got a gateway between your HDTV and your digital media on your computer.
For an extra $100, you can purchase the PhotoBridge HD Gallery Collection, which includes six high-def "art packs" that take full advantage of your HD set. Think of it as 1080i screen saver of amazingly detailed pictures in six categories: The Classics, Nature, Aquarium, Clocks, Space, and Holidays.
You can purchase the art packs individually at $69 each, so the $100 bundle saves you bundle. If you have your own high resolution digital content, this option probably isn't too appealing. If your HDTV is collecting dust, however, this might be a nice use for your set.
The Roku PhotoBridge works with all of the standard DTV resolutions, including 480p, 720p and 1080i. Output jacks include component, S-Video, VGA, and composite, so it should be compatible with most, if not all, digital sets. Now your HDTV doesn't have to just take up space; with the "Space" art pack, it can display space too.
