largely ignored by everyone.

The Guardian's blog has a few links and details on a conference that was going on at the same time as the Hot Coffee stupidity, which of course made infinitely more entertaining headlines. Depending on your definition of entertaining, that is.

Of course, with the merest mention of caffeine based beverages, the comments on the piece devolve into yet another tedious debate on videogames, because some folk have nothing better to do than to keep milking a dead cow/beating a dead horse. (Depending on your bovine/equine preference.)
