LCD TV price declines continue

As LCD HDTV sets become more widely available in various sizes, the prices continue to drop. On average, 40-  to 45-inch LCD prices decreased an average of 14% during the second quarter of 2005.

Sales of LCD sets for the first half of the year increased 26%, but DLP sales increased a whopping 65% during this time. With the recent standardization of larger LCD panels and higher LCD production outputs, we're expecting this trend to reverse a little. Watch for LCDs to make up a little sales ground over the next six to twelve months, while prices decrease for all types of sets.

From a pricing and quality perspective, are you more tempted to puchase an LCD or a projection-based HD set?
