SanDisk to roll out TrustedFlash secure flash cards

There's a reason the idea of buying music pre-installed on flash memory cards hasn't caught on, and it has less to do with the lack of secure, DRM-based solutions for storage (of which there are more than enough) than with lack of consumer interest in yet another new hardware-based format. That's relegated the prerecorded solid-state media market to novelty and niche products like the
Juice Box. But that hasn't stopped developers from trying to come up with new ways to enter this non-market, and the latest is SanDisk, which has partnered with ecommerce company Click&Buy to create the TrustedFlash platform. Little info is available about the platform so far, but we're pretty confident that it won't exactly take the music world by storm, or rock sales of SanDisk's SD-based
Sansa audio players, no matter what SanDisk would like you to think.
