Could the Mighty Mouse induce Carpal Tunnel?
Trent Lapinski of AppleX.net has posted that all signs point to Apple's Mighty Mouse as the reason he's developed Carpal Tunnel. His post elaborates on his computer using habits and the fateful doctor's visit that lead to this unfortunate diagnosis.
This is only the first report of such a case, and I'd imagine this won't become some widespread Mighty Mouse-related epidemic, but I just have to say: I've been skeptical of that mouse's design since it was introduced. Getting my hands on one at an Apple Store didn't help either, as there are various elements of the device that simply feel un-Apple, the worst of which is the whole two-buttons-but-only-one-finger clicking charade.
If anything, check out Trent's post, as there is a slight upside to it: one more person is professing the necessity of good computing posture, ergonomics and the value of comfortable wrist rests.
