NEC's fully LED backlit SpectraView Reference 21

Just like Engadget, NEC knows that nothing goes better together than
gadgets and beer. Probably hoping that drunk journalists would be more wowed by their latest offerings than sober ones, NEC used Germany's Oktoberfest as an opportunity to reveal some displays that will be released in the near future. Most of the units shown were basically new takes on old tech, with the exception of the SpectraView Reference 21, which NEC claims is the first entirely LED
backlit monitor. This 21.3-inch beauty sports an impressive 1600 x 1200 resolution and boasts of unparalled color accuracy and uniformity across the entire display. Even better, the Reference 21's got you all kinds of future-proofed with support for not-yet-released 10-bit graphics cards (and of course DVI inputs for now). We can tell that this unit is being marketed towards professionals, not so much because of its techie screenshade, but mostly due to its $4200 price tag.
