Sony adds still image functions to VRD-MC1 DVDirect burner
Sony has updated its line of DVDirect standalone DVD burners with the VRD-MC1, which adds the ability to save still images from digital cameras in addition to video footage. Like earlier models, the $299 burner includes a Firewire port and the ability to directly control a camcorder during playback, and also adds a memory card reader for Memory Sticks (of course) as well as most other popular card formats. Also included is a 2-inch LCD display that can be used to preview both video footage and still images.
