IOCELL PhoneDrive merges USB flash drive with VoIP
South Korea's IOCELL is at it again. After trying to foist
the proprietary C2 "open" standard for flash drives on an unsuspecting world, the company has now started hawking the PhoneDrive, a combo USB flash drive and VoIP headset. We'll leave open the question of whether that's a good combination for the moment, because this isn't just any VoIP headset.
Turns out it'll only work with IOCELL's own proprietary VoIP software, which is bundled with the unit. All VoIP calls are routed through IOCELL's gateways, and the company plans to charge an unspecified price (the company calls VoIP
pricng "moderately low") for VoIP calls. Oh, and just in case you were wondering, yes, this one also runs on the C2 platform.
