If the idea of breaking out the soldering iron just to extend your iPod dock connector a few inches doesn't sound appealing, the SendStation folks have a new hack-free Dock Extender product that should fill your needs without any of that nasty "work" stuff getting in the way. Unfortunately, the only purpose of this thing is to let you dock your iPod without removing its case -- a worthy cause, indeed, but not quite as exciting as the prospect of waving around a cable-attached iPod around willy nilly. No word on price or when SendStation will have this thing ready, but you can sign up for notification at their site, and it'll probably be hitting for $15-$20 if other products are any indication.
