Acoustic Research intros iPod-friendly AR5100 audio docking station

Acoustic Research is on a roll today at CES Unveiled in New York, and if you've somehow managed to avoid the overload of other iPod docking systems up until now, we've got yet another you can have a look at. The AR5100 audio docking system doubles as a tabletop music center or an iPod video source for a display. Of note, AR designed the unit so that it could actually be hung (you know, beneath a flat-panel HDTV), and gussied it up with backlit white graphics, touch-sensitive buttons, horn-loaded tweeters, a ported enclosure, a component-video output and a bundled IR remote. Check it this December for $199.99, and catch the release in its entirety after the break.

Desktop Entertainment Center

With a striking design that makes a statement on any desk, the Acoustic Research AR5100 High Performance Audio Docking System can serve as a desktop music system or an iPod video source for a video display. Its slim profile is designed to be equally functional on a desktop or hanging beneath a flat-screen TV. Featuring backlit white graphics, the system's touch-sensitive buttons respond to the slightest touch, mimicking the controls on an iPod. Audio performance is designed to impress, with horn-loaded tweeters, a ported enclosure, and premium audio crossovers to ensure "best in class" sound. A component-video output is provided for connection to a video display, and the system includes an infrared remote control. And while the AR5100 High Performance Audio Docking System is designed with an executive office suite in mind, the "high style" look is equally at home in a contemporary home. The Acoustic Research AR5100 High Performance Audio Docking System is available in December at a suggested retail price of $199.99.
