JBL brings the twist to On Stage IV and On Stage Micro III iPod sound docks

We're guessing that we'll be seeing these iPod sound systems at the bottom of our Lucky Charms boxes next year, but JBL's trying to milk things while it still can. The company has just unleashed a new pair of iPod / iPhone-compatible sound systems, the On Stage IV and On Stage Micro III. Strangely enough, they look fairly identical, but the latter just so happens to be the more portable of the two (shocker!). The new duo sports a unique twisted base, with the On Stage IV housing four Odyssey transducers and having the ability to operate on a six-pack of AA batteries; the smaller Micro III uses just two Odyssey transducers, but it can pump out the jams for 24 hours on just four AAA batteries. Each one ships with an IR remote, touch volume controls and a built-in stereo mini-jack input for connecting those other PMPs you've got sitting around. The On Stage IV is expected to ship soon for $179.95, while the little guy goes for $119.95.%Gallery-104937%

One of the best-known iPod- and iPhone-compatible docks on the market, the JBL On Stage series sets the tone again with the new JBL On Stage IV and JBL On Stage Micro III, a new line of iPod and iPhone docking stations that boast a brand-new industrial design: the Weave. The original JBL On Stage set the standard for iPod docking stations and has since gone through four generations while providing the high-performance sound that music lovers expect from JBL multimedia products. The JBL On Stage IV and JBL On Stage Micro III are both portable iPod and iPhone docking sound systems for the music fan who takes his or her music on the go.

The JBL On Stage IV uses four Odyssey® transducers, emitting rich and clear sound for any environment such as dorm rooms, backyard patios or the beach. It includes an AC adapter or can be powered by six AA batteries that will provide up to 16 hours of normal play.

With a smaller footprint and a more portable size for a lifestyle on the go, the JBL On Stage Micro III is equipped with two Odyssey transducers, delivering amazing bass and clear sound with unparalleled ease. Powered by an AC adapter or four AAA batteries that will provide up to 24 hours of continuous play, the JBL On Stage Micro III is the ultimate portable iPod/iPhone docking sound system. Both units include an IR remote with fully functioning control from up to 15 feet away.

"Connecting every music lover to their music no matter where they are is what JBL is all about," said Christopher M. Dragon, director of Consumer and Field Marketing, HARMAN International. "We're excited to unveil a dramatic new look with the same amazing sound and set the tone again with our most recent lineup of iPod and iPhone docking stations."

Both JBL docks are lightweight, extreme space savers, compatible with most docking iPod and iPhone devices, and both models include the Apple iPod universal dock adapter. These units also connect directly to iTunes via USB 2.0 with a Mac or a PC to synchronize the iPod/iPhone with iTunes. Touch-volume settings and mute controls make for easy operation, and each dock includes a built-in stereo mini-jack input for connecting to other digital music players, as well as CD players, gaming devices, laptops and desktop computers.
