T-Mobile's You Fix gives budget-minded Brits a new approach to pay-as-you-go

If you're a Londoner who's struggling to live within your means, T-Mobile is hoping its latest You Fix plans are the solution to your budgetary woes. The Magenta-clad carrier's UK arm promotes You Fix as the ultimate hybrid of pay monthly and pay-as-you-go. Customers sign a 12 month commitment to one of three plans that range between £15.50 ($25) and £26 ($42) per month, and the most expensive plan brings 300 minutes and texts. Once the allotment is met, consumers can top off their accounts based on T-Mobile's traditional PAYG rates, or bide their time until the new month rolls around. Additionally, You Fix'ers may choose between one of seven free add-ons each month, including options to add data or unlimited texts. Subsidized phones are also on the menu, with the BlackBerry Curve 8520, HTC Wildfire S, and Samsung Galaxy Gio leading the pack. Looking to save a few quid? T-Mobile launches unique You Fix plan

• New plan combines the best of pay monthly and pay as you go
• Unique to T-Mobile, the mobile plan is flexible and offers complete spend control

London, UK: 1st August 2011 T-Mobile today announces the launch of You Fix, a unique new mobile phone plan that combines the benefits of pay monthly with the flexibility and spend control of pay as you go. The only plan of its kind in the UK, You Fix is available from today through T-Mobile stores, from the online shop and telesales.

Customers signing up to You Fix will get a set allowance of minutes, texts and a Flexible Booster for a fixed monthly amount, on a short 12 month plan. For any more minutes or texts needed, customers can simply top–up as they would on pay as you go – meaning they'll have the peace of mind that they'll never pay more than they expect. Customers can also choose from a range of great value smartphones, including Android and BlackBerry, for a small payment upfront or for free.

You Fix has been designed to meet the changing needs of customers. Research for the brand has shown that nearly one quarter (23 per cent) of 11 – 20 year olds questioned have a smartphone, with 45% wanting a smartphone if they don't have one already. This has resulted in a shift towards a greater appetite for pay monthly plans (11 per cent rise in the last 12 months) as an increasing numbers of parents meet their teenager's demands for smartphones – however pay monthly plans don't allow the same level of spend control as they're used to on pay as you go, as a You Fix plan does.

Customers sign up to a 12 month plan at a fixed monthly price. They can choose one of three different prices:

£15.50 per month / 75 minutes / 75 texts
£20.50 per month / 100 minutes / 100 texts
£26 per month / 300 minutes / 300 texts

Any one of seven free Flexible Boosters are included at the customers choice in the monthly price, allowing access to additional services such internet access, and can be changed each month if they wish to meet the needs of changing lifestyles.
