MV Guide: April 16 - 22, 2012

MV Guide is a weekly rundown of the MMO gaming events planned on Massively TV.

Every week, the Massively staff logs in to play various MMOs live and in person, and we'd love for you to drop by the channel and visit. We have a combination of regular weekly games and new surprises, so you'll find a variety of titles to take a look at. During our streamed events, you can participate in the live chat, ask questions to learn about the game, and simply spend some time with Massively staff and readers. (Of course, streaming is subject to the whims of outside forces like server-side gremlins once in a while.)

Monday

1:00 p.m. EDT: Blake -- Star Wars: The Old Republic
It's Lunchtime Livecast #20! Can Blake finally conquer the Jedi origin world of Tython? Will he finally select the AC for this Jedi Consular? Will he finally stop promising things in one week's show only to deliver them two weeks late? Tune in to find out!

3:00 p.m. EDT: Jeremy -- Atlantica Online
Jeremy is carrying over last week's Atlantica Online stream. Check out the different options there are for storing and mixing and matching mercenary formations to suit your style or objective. There's also a layer of strategy by creating special combo attacks by using specific mercenaries with each other.

5:00 p.m. EDT: Beau -- Gemstone IV
In this week's Rise and Shiny, Beau will be taking a look at Gemstone IV! What is Gemstone IV? It's a MUD -- an MMO that is completely made of text. It's sort of like one of those book things that we humans used to read, but you can pick how the story is written! Tune in and see how this game has aged.

8:00 p.m. EDT: Mike -- EVE Online
This week on the stream, Mike equips his fancy new Drake and sets of in search of nasty spacerats to destroy. Tune in as he runs missions, blows up bad guys and tries very carefully not to lose the most valuable thing he's ever owned in EVE Online. Explosions will abound!

Tuesday

5:00 p.m. EDT: Beau -- Darkwind
Do you enjoy turn-based, post-apocalyptic, turn-based car wars? We thought you did. Beau is going to take a look at Darkwind, a game that sets you down in a world of deadly car races and deadly pursuit. Will he make it out alive? Come on, of course he won't... but he'll try.

7:00 p.m. EDT: MJ -- Lord of the Rings Online
Hobbitses and Minstrels: Will MJ prance about the shire or take on the Mines of Moria. Viewers decide, so speak up!

9:00 p.m. EDT: MJ -- EverQuest II
Although it isn't a double XP weekend, maybe MJ will cave in to viewer pressure and snag a friend to demonstrate some powerleveling. Otherwise, she'll be checking out some of the lower-level dungeons dotting the land and getting her kung-fu on.

10:00 p.m. EDT: Richie -- World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria
With the Wandering Isle starting area complete, Richie sets his sights on the new high level content found in the Jade Forest. Watch the stream to see what the latest WoW expansion has in store for players, and perhaps the chat room can convince him to queue up for one of the new dungeons.

Wednesday

5:00 p.m. EDT: Beau -- Second Life
It's time to build a skybox! What's a skybox? Well, imagine building the house of your dreams and then lifting way, way, way up into the sky. Beau is also going to concentrate on building a skybox using minimal prims for those players who might not be able to afford much more.

6:00 p.m. EDT: Jeremy -- Vanguard
Jeremy has been taking a look at a lot of different features in Vanguard. This week, tune in to check out a bunch of common MMO features -- Vanguard style. There's disassembling, the auction house, looking-for-guild tools, missive rewards and more.

7:00 p.m. EDT: Mike -- RIFT
Mike's RIFT Lite trial is coming to a close, but that doesn't mean there aren't a few adventures left to enjoy. Find out how DoTs can shape the mage experience and how RIFT's "role" trees help keep things flexible for group play.

8:00 p.m. EDT: James "Adventure Mike" -- Final Fantasy XIV
After a week of missing in action, Adventure Mike and Shannon re-emerge in the world of Eorzea fresh as daisies. Mike is still working towards becoming a pint-sized Dragoon, and with luck, maybe he'll even be one before this stream hits, we'll just have to wait and see! Join us weekly for a look into Square-Enix's latest online MMORPG adventure, Final Fantasy XIV.

9:00 p.m. EDT: Taryn -- APB: Reloaded
This week, Join Taryn for Tboo Wednesday and get schooled on the new and exciting APB:Reloaded New Breed Pt 1 1.7.0 update! There's some pretty awesome things going on with this patch, and Taryn is more than excited to share them all with you. The best part? The patch launches just before her stream. So crank up your speakers and get a front row seat to some blood splattering on the streets of San Paro.

Thursday

5:00 p.m. EDT: Beau -- Dark Legends
Spacetime Studios has just launched its brand-new title Dark Legends, and Beau is going to be there to stream it live. What about the controversial energy mechanic? Is the game persistent enough? We'll see on the stream, won't we?

7:00 p.m. EDT: MJ -- Vanguard
By popular request, MJ will jump into crafting and show off her awesome sewing skills (only available in the virtual world!) as an Outfitter. Amusement is assured.

9:00 p.m. EDT: MJ -- Aion
There has never been a Dredgion like this! Join MJ as she braves the new Terath Dredgion, where Asmodians and Elyos work together against a common enemy. Feel the Daeva love!

Friday

3:00 p.m. EDT: Jeremy -- World of Warcraft
Jeremy's been discovering some fun changes to World of Warcraft's newbie experience, even if he's only on a trial account. Hang out with him in-game and in the livestream chat-room as he takes Necronomnom closer to level 20.

5:00 p.m. EDT: Beau -- Nodiatis
Nodiatis is a strange Java-based fantasy game that Beau has tried in the past but never got very far in. This time he's going to see how far he can get! How many rats will he have to kill? Plenty, we bet.

Saturday

9:00 p.m. EDT: Dylan "GGraves" -- TERA
Tab targetting is so 2010, this year's releases are all about ACTION! Join Dylan for a look at the TERA open beta. TERA is the first next-gen action based MMO, and he couldn't be more excited to dip, dive, duck.... and dodge! Come hang out in the chat room and join us as we stream TERA (assuming the beta servers don't crash).

Sunday

3:00 p.m. EDT: Dylan "GGraves" -- Destroy All Evil! (Diablo II)
Join Dylan as he celebrates the upcoming release of Diablo III! This series will bring light into darkness as GGraves cuts through hordes of demons and undead! Hellfire, massive weapons and righteous redemption await. Come join us in the chat room as we Destroy All Evil with other Massively viewers. The featured game will be Diablo II, so stay a while, and listen.
