Sky Movies app finally arrives on Android

Sky's Movies app may be old hat for iOS users, but the companion experience has only just arrived on Android. By wielding the software, folks can look up what's airing across the network's film channels, read up on information about flicks and look up theater listings. Users can also catch streaming movies with the application (if a device is registered with Sky Go, of course), and even remotely set their Sky+ HD box to record. Sky Movies app now available on Android

· Sky Movies app to launch on Android smartphones and tablets

· Innovative app offers film fans movies to watch within the app, remote record functionality, cinema listings and trailers

Sky is today extending its popular Movies companion app to Sky customers using Android handsets.

The app – which is available to download free of charge – offers film fans a one-stop shop with trailers, synopses and cast list for hundreds of movies currently showing on Sky Movies and Sky Store, as well as the lowdown on films currently showing at the cinema. Sky Movies Pack customers can enjoy movies immediately, on a compatible device within the app, providing access hundreds of blockbusters on demand and 11 channels at no extra cost.

Customers can use the Android version of the app to explore the full list of movies currently showing across Sky's movie channels, which as of the end of this month will also include the brand new channel, Sky Movies | Disney. Innovative functionality built within the app, means that Sky Movies customers can use their Android handset to record movies to their Sky+ HD box while on the move.
