Biggest first: Tap big or go home
Biggest first is a fast-paced game that tests players' reactions through their ability to tap the biggest circle on the screen and then tap the remaining circles by size from biggest to smallest. But there is a catch, the circles change size by expanding and shrinking at a consistent rate. Biggest first is compatible with iOS devices running iOS 7.1 or later.
Biggest first features three modes to choose from, each giving a new challenge for players building on the base gameplay feature. The three modes are classic, endless, and 60 seconds. In classic mode, players try to clear all of the circles in each level in a certain amount of time. Players are limited by space in endless mode which means they have to act quickly and remove as many circles as possible before they fill the grid. 60 seconds mode is an interesting time trial where players have only 60 seconds to clear as many circles that pop up as possible.
Players can choose from three difficulty levels, easy, normal, or hard. The modes differ by the amount of circles that can fill the grid and the grid itself gets bigger depending on which level you choose. For new players or those who want a light challenge, easy mode is very enjoyable as it is challenging enough to keep players engaged but not too difficult that players feel stuck. Biggest first is a very rewarding game as players can't win by just tapping aimlessly which reinforces the idea of focus and skill but players still feel motivation toward getting to the next level or getting a high score. Biggest First also features Game Center support which means fun challenges with friends and achievements.
The user interface in Biggest first is really interesting in a visually appealing way, with the way buttons pop in and text slides over, it creates a feeling of movement which compliments the gameplay a lot. This cohesive feel is seen especially when the icons expand and shrink a little reminiscent of someone breathing in and out. When players tap on an icon, it disappears similar to what happens in the game but without the particle effects. This reminds players of how the game works in that the circles will continue to shrink and expand over and over until they tap on them.
Biggest first is a really well done, visually engaging game that boasts the right amount of challenge without being too difficult. You can download Biggest first on the App Store for US$0.99.
