Several Companies Look To Revolutionize Gaming As You Know It

In the past few years, gaming has changed dramatically. Graphics have improved and the peripherals utilized to interact with these games have become much more high-tech and innovative. Of course, the revolution is far from over. A handful of companies are interested in taking things one step further and the way they will change the industry will be truly startling. Some of these companies are familiar with the industry, while others will look to capitalize on an unfamiliar market, while targeting gamers.

First and foremost, Sony may not be new to the industry, but they still want to adapt it further. Their PlayStation VR is undoubtedly their biggest hyped product in many years. When compared to other virtual reality headsets, which will be released this coming year, Sony's product is immensely cheaper and doesn't require the use of a high-end computer. Unfortunately, it does require a PlayStation Camera, but the investment is still more reasonable than what the others require. With this specific headset, consumers will be able to enjoy a wide variety of games and other interactive scenarios, such as virtual reality betting.

Whether or not the Virtual Reality concept will take off remains to be seen. However, a handful of other companies have already jumped on the bandwagon. HTC and Oculus will also be releasing their own headsets this year. The Oculus Rift, which is a project in conjunction with Facebook, is currently available for pre-order and will also attempt to sway gamers to enter a virtual reality. The biggest setback associated with this particular headset is the fact that consumers will need a very powerful computer, in order to utilize the headset to the fullest. This will require many to make upgrades to their current computers or build a brand new one, in order to meet the requirements.

Of course, Facebook has been a hotspot for games and has proven to be able to suck in non-gamers and turn them into casual gamers. This was more than evident with games, such as Mafia Wars and FarmVille. Many developers, including SlotsMillion, see a viable market for the Rift and Facebook. Although the Rift hasn't been released to the public yet, a handful of games are already in development. This includes a gambling related title from SlotsMillion, which will take place in the 80th floor of a futuristic skyscraper. Within the game, consumers will be able to hang out at the bar, interact with others and even play a variety of 3D games.

Again, neither has been released, so their success remains to be seen. Microsoft has just released their decision to create an indie gaming platform, using the Xbox One. This will allow Xbox One players to compete against PlayStation players, but only those that have recently purchased PC games on the Steam platform. This will be very exciting news for all gamers, plus it opens up doors of opportunities to compete against new and friendly faces.

Rocket League will be added to the list first, even though it already supports play between PC owners and PlayStation 4. Microsoft is also currently encouraging other networks to become involved in this process.

All in all, those who desire to experience revolutionary games will want to hold off, until they're able to access the games in virtual reality. This will give them to ability to experience their games in a whole new light and with added intensity and excitement.
