The final hours of Amazon's October Prime Day Deals have arrived, which means it's your last chance to get a 30 percent discount on the Reolink Elite Floodlight Camera. Until midnight PT, Prime members can get this model for just $154 — a $66 savings compared to the usual price of $220. That's a killer deal for a camera that can literally shine a spotlight on you when you arrive home, or on trespassers coming onto your property uninvited.
Capturing 4K video with an adjustable 3,000 lumens of brightness, the outdoor camera connects via dual-band Wi-Fi. The best part? There are no required monthly subscription fees. So, once you pay this nominal fee for the hardware, you can view live footage, recorded footage, find events, and more, without forking over another dime.
Once set up, the Reolink Elite Wi-Fi 4K Floodlight camera can provide ambient light at 3,000K or cool light for high-security illumination at 6,000K. Not only can it capture a wide area with a 180-degree panoramic view, it can also do so in 4K. Plus, it continuously records 24/7 to a microSD card up to 512GB (sold separately) or a hard drive like the Reolink NVR or Home Hub.
Engadget named another Reolink camera, the Atlas PT Ultra, the best security camera with a solar panel. While this one doesn't have a solar power option, it shares the same value for dollar and fantastic video quality. "The flood lights are very bright," writes an Amazon verified reviewer, "and the picture quality is outstanding."
Monitoring it is simple through the same control app as used in the model we reviewed, which we describe as straightforward and responsive. In the app, you can receive motion detection alerts, including of people, vehicles, and animals, distinguishing among the three. Also set customized zones, like only capturing motion up to the bottom of the driveway so you aren't getting pinged every time someone walks by with their dog.
Along with a notification via the app that someone is approaching, the floodlight can trigger a loud siren or alarm or a pre-recorded voice warning to scare someone away or ask them to announce themselves. An AI video search feature, currently in beta, can find footage using descriptive detail prompts so you can see when your teen really arrived home from school.
It's effortless to install with a 5V power adapter (you'll have to buy one separately) and the included USB-C cable. "I honestly can't believe how easy this was to install," writes one happy buyer, who adds that they had it "up and running in no time at all." Another points out that they appreciate there are doubles of consumable hardware for installation in the box. Dropped a screw through the slats on the porch? No worries as there's an extra one.
This is a great camera to consider if your neighborhood has been recently hit with a rash of car thefts, break-ins or porch pirates. But it's also useful for added everyday security, or for peace of mind while you're away on business trips or vacation. This outdoor security camera is worth it at full price and even more so at this discounted rate.
Reminder that you'll need to be an Amazon Prime member to take advantage of this offer. Not yet a member? No problem. You can sign up for your free 30-day trial here.
