Engadget Podcast 081 - 05.23.06
What a week for product launches! Seems like out of the gate past E3 everybody wanted to get theirs out the door: Apple loosed the MacBook, Motorola and Verizon launched the Q, Sprint and Verizon launched the Palm Treo 700p, and Sony launched their UX Micro PC. But it wasn't all rosy new toys for everyone to play with, Creative and Apple are heading to court to go toe to toe over some patents, as apparently is XM and Pioneer over the RIAA-contestable recording capabilities of the Inno. Tune in to find out how it all unfurls on this week's Engadget Podcast!Get the podcast

cw @ Jun 12th 2006 6:19PM
All I want to know is why not post a message that the next podcast won't post until xx/xx/xxxx? That's all I'm saying.
Tim Arguien @ Jun 14th 2006 9:27AM
Have there really been no Podcasts since 05.23.06? I am getting withdrawls and my Dell DJ sits idle...
jamms @ Jun 19th 2006 8:40AM

av @ Jun 19th 2006 11:53PM
A loyal listener here. What's the story with the podcasts? Can you please let us know?
Randall @ Jun 20th 2006 12:09AM
Hey,
Let me give you the long and short answer. A lot is changing around the Engadget mansion, and I'll leave it up to Ryan to explain what's the haps with him. As far as myself, my brother recently passed away. I've been gone for a few weeks. Add on top of that, my secret project X (also known as new Netscape) launched. That's why I've kind of been out of the loop.
As for when we'll see another podcast, I can't give specifics. We've got to get back together and discuss what's happening.
Later,
Randall

I'm sorry about your loss Randall.
Tuesdays are usually the podcast day. I did not realize that Block was heading west.
Steve @ Jun 20th 2006 6:24PM
My condolences, Randall.
I hope to have new eps soon. This show has been my favorite since Phil Torone did the podcast. It was a real let down when he stopped.
ChrisXS @ Jun 27th 2006 12:02PM
Today is Podcast Tuesday! *Crosses Fingers*
If we are not to expect a podcast today, when can we expect one?
ipodman715 @ Jun 28th 2006 8:05PM
:(
More than a month without a podcast...
Steve Sizemore @ Jun 28th 2006 9:13PM
This reminds me of the time Phil Torrone left. I wish they wouldn't leave us hanging like this.
Tim Quernemoen @ Jun 30th 2006 4:42PM
They better be careful if they care about keeping listenership. This is about the time when people start finding new reliable stuff to listen to, and start forgeting about the engadget podcast.
Nelso @ Jul 1st 2006 10:57AM
I want my...I want my...I want my Engadget podcast
Anon (or John Smith) @ Jul 1st 2006 7:17PM
Right, ok, this reminds me of what the people are like over at topofthepods when they recently had quite a number of personal issues they needed to get over. I feel I need to tell people that podcasts are things these people put out for us using their own time. Unless I am entirely wrong, I don't think they get paid for the podcasts. We need to understand that podcasts for these people is a sideline and not the focus of their lives. Be grateful for the 50+ podcasts we have got from them so far. Thank You.
Anon (or John Smith) @ Jul 1st 2006 7:20PM
Also, I would just like to add that, as a bonus, I do hope that you can get the elusive and long-awaited enhanced feed up and running when you triumphantly return
naren @ Jul 2nd 2006 7:04PM
I'm sorry to hear of your troubles guys, it's a very sad loss. I hope it all doesn't get you too down.
Doug @ Jul 3rd 2006 3:45PM
Randall - I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your brother. I hope your time off has given you the chance to properly mourn and process so you can move on.
Like many loyal podscast listeners, I've missed my weekly engadget ipod fix, but the hiatus is perfectly understandable. Occasionally, life can be a harsh schoolmaster. Hopefully, you guys can regroup and resume the podcasts soon.
Alan @ Jul 5th 2006 11:32PM
Please bring back the podcasts, please? I miss em, getting all my gadget news from a hodgepodge of other sources :-(
Jacob @ Jul 6th 2006 2:50PM
I hope the podcast returns soon it was one of my favorites. The feed just rests on my browsers homepage along with the other News and Podcast feeds unchanged since the end of May hopefully soon it will be dusted off and a new podcast will appear. Someone should at least make an official post on Engadget explaining things and tell us when we can expect a new episode if at all.
Steve Sizemore @ Jul 7th 2006 12:17PM
I agree with Jacob. It would be awesome to find out what's going on with the show. Until then, I'll be patiently waiting.
Harry @ Jul 8th 2006 10:31AM
jonesing for the next podcast!
moto @ Jul 9th 2006 5:55PM
Sorry to hear about your brother, Randall, my condolences to you man.
