LG's 13.3-inch E300-AP75K laptop packs a 160GB hybrid HDD
LG's E300-AP75K isn't the first laptop this year from the company rocking a hybrid hard drive within, but it's just hard to gloss over a new machine with 160 gigabytes of HHD under the hood. Reportedly, this 13.3-incher sports a WXGA panel, a 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 processor, 2GB of RAM, a DVD burner, 1.3-megapixel camera, HDMI output, WiFi and ATI's Radeon X1250 handling the graphics. The unit shouldn't weigh you down much at just 2.86-pounds (um, for real?), and it's supposedly ready to launch in Korea for around $1,700.

Just measured her on my monitor and she seems a bit less than 13 inches. But I'm glad she's packing 160GB HDD

The 2.8lbs can't be correct. I've never seen a 13.3" laptop that light.

that is no lie..this is one of the new ultraportable laptops.

Mile @ Oct 25th 2007 11:10AM
Watch it have 2 hours of battery run time.

Dang. The 13.3" Macbook is 5.1 pounds. I'd love to see this thing. It weighs about as much as an x60 with a nicer screen.

The official LG website says "약 1.9Kg의 편리한 휴대성과 Chic한 디자인의 고성능 노트북"
It's true. It's 1.9 kgs.

I think nowadays laptop must have atleast 3 hours battery life under the most demanding situation..of course that would mean easily over 4 hours with basic task and WIFI n perhaps bluetooth on. 2 hours just doesnt cut it.

That is certainly a nicely equipped, portable laptop. Hdmi with the x1250 gpu is a nice touch to any laptop not specifically designed for the hardcore gamer. The only part on the laptop's list that is controversial in my opinion is the hybrid hard drive, I'm always down for the newest technology, but hybrid drives have shown little to no gain in performance. I would rather have the hard drive portion of the laptop investment going towards the largest drive possible, rather than on a more expensive hybrid drive. Thats my 2 cents.

pretty good specs for a sub 2000 ultraportable...but i would rather have the option of not having the dvd burner and putting in a second battery instead.
ethana2 @ Oct 25th 2007 12:41PM
Absolutely. And no operating system.
If they're going to pack Linux, they could have the sense to include non-free codecs out of the box. Dell didn't do that, which was a serious mistake... but at least all the hardware was supported.
I just don't want to pay for what I'm not going to use. That would be windows, and hardware tied exclusively to it.

Hey guys remember when we were talking about hybrid hard drives being a standard feature for 2007 on laptops exactly a year ago during the Vista launch?
Oh, I guess not.

Some Sony Vaio SZ's also come with 160gb Hybrid Hard Drives.

Looks like the Asus W7J + HDMI out, 512Mb RAM

Akihabara News made a mistake. It weighs 2.07kg (4.554 lbs) with the optical drive, 1.9kg (4.18 lbs) without. Still pretty damn light, through.

PLEASE have SI (the metric system- you know, the measurements everyone except the US uses?) along with the system you use in the US. Kilgrams/metres/centimetres, etc.
