Toshiba's leaked product roadmap gets us hot, extra bothered by fuel-cell powered L01 MID

If the roadmap posted after the break is to be believed (and we think it is) then Toshiba is set to capture a lot of attention with its Snapdragon-based handhelds over the coming year. Techblog.gr has what it claims to be the Toshiba Device Roadmap through 2010. They've shown us a PowerPoint sample off-line that seems to support the claim. Of course, this isn't the first time Tosh has leaked an entire product cycle and the named devices align nicely with some of the prototypes Toshiba was showing-off at CES in January (see gallery below). Toshiba was already off to a good start in 2009 with its incredibly thin 4.1-inch TG01 running atop Qualcomm's snapdragon platform. It just gets better from there. First we've got the TG02 (launching in Q4) update to the TG01 that adds IPX4 water resistance without changing the specs or the dimensions. The TG03 ups the ante again with the inclusion of a 3-channel speaker for a better video experience.
Also in Q4, Tosh looks ready to launch a 15-mm QWERTY slider version of the 9.9-mm TG01 with new capacitive (!) touchscreen called the K01. All other specs look unchanged including WinMo 6.5. Next is the K02 clamshell with primary 3.5-inch WVGA display and QWERTY on the inside coupled with a secondary LCD and 10-key on-screen keypad on the outside. The K02 features a resistive touchscreen, HSPA data, and same QSD8x50 chipset found in the TG01 (and all the other devices on this roadmap). Last, but by no means least, is the 7-inch L01 looking every bit the love-child of a Nokia N800 and HTC Advantage. The very same device that was shown powered by a DMFC (fuel cell) at CES in January. Interesting since Toshiba has promised a consumer device powered by a fuel cell before March of 2010. Unfortunately, it's limited to WinMo 6.5 (with a hint of a Windows Mobile 7 in 2010) and the same WVGA resolution seen on the smaller screens when it launches. Assuming the leak is true, of course.

well.... at least the first commercial fuel-cell powered device will be out, assuming the leak is true. Damn. Too many variables.

Nope I already got my fuel cell desk clock/flower holder!
Don't know if it's legit though... At $13 they might have just put in a regular clock and a moisture sensor.
TG01 or HTC SuperStar running Tegra shall be my next phone.
Mine too, or alternatively HTC' s Thoth or Whitestone, or the Archos /TI Android smartphone, or the SamsungOmniaHD, or maybe even SE Idou; but I definitely can't wait so long to substitute at least one among my HTC touchHD or my Samsung Omnia, so I guess that before I'll manage to get my mitts on one of the above devices I will be pocketing a Nokia N97, hopefully before june.
Here in Denmark telefone companies tie you to their subsidized handset for 6 months maximum, so if the N97 shows up before the summer I should still be able to grab one of the snapdragon/tegra babies in the fall.
I can't wait. I'm truly bored of the touchHD and the Omnia but atm this is the best one can get (at least here in Europe)
I have also read a couple of article about the coming third incarnation of the iPhone and it may be that it could turn out to be the first Apple product worth buying; however since I have tried the iPhone 3G and I had to get rid of it about a week later due to its sucking, I'm gonna be extra careful this time.
Damn it! I'm still on my camera-less, media player-less, Bluetooth-less, EDGE-less Nokia candybar. Lucky Danish people.. yum butter cookies.
Oh yea and I have to add.. My next phone is gonna be either a used $100 HTC Dash or a used $250 G1. Poor me, nonbeliever in 2-year carrier contracts.
My interest is a 7-inch of L01, its keyboard can be separated from its main body.
A key is more important:
I hope that L01 has a new function:
it should be able to as an monitor (the computing part run to stop), it has a HDMI input port and it can connect to camera or videocamera HDMI output, its inside batteries for outdoor application as a 7-inch monitor.
I wonder if they are going to use ssd or hdd? I hope they use hdd so we can get 500gb worth of storage. And this will kill the Archos just from their own consumers (beta tester) moving over to Tosh.
HDD in a
Stupid filter.
HDD in < 1.5" device.
This is an impressive lineup...... Im hoping these arent crazy expensive.....
I'm sure it's jizz in your pants worthy. :P
"Unfortunately, it's limited to WinMo 6.5"
Yea no bias at all here. You used some rough build (I would consider it Alpha) to declare your final judgment on Win Mo 6.5, pretty sad.
Heh, their bias can be rather blatant at times.
does anyone else find it odd that in our near future will see fuel powered electronics and battery powered cars?
I think we are just a step away from human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!
K01 my dream device :D
If only I was sure that it will get wm7 coupled with HDMI output I would start saving money right away :)
How much storage will be on these suckers? I think that's the real killer for me. If the TG01 can have 32gb onboard + sdhc, 3.5" audio jack, and WM 6.5 doesn't suck as much as engadget says it does, I'd pay a lot of money for one. Maybe even 400-500 with 2yr contract. Oh, please make it available for sprint.. hopefully it's not just gsm..
