I feel like dell is trying to get some apple-esque hype by holding it's cards to it's chest, but it's really going the other way, it's just annoying. That thing is freaking thin though, kudos.
WOOOOHHOOOO!
a windows podcast!
ok, i`ll download this one :)
Yay! An hour of mobile talk before we get to the good stuff! Well, since the rest is about laptops, maybe we could say its totally mobile. Good thing I've got a mobile device to download it to and listen at my leisure.
I like the tidbit about Chris Ziegler worried about his MyFi roaming in Mexico when being in San Diego.
I just want to develop for Windows Mobile 7. Good podcast.
I personally hope HTC doesn't touch the UI for Windows Mobile 7 (hopefully it is a 100% revamp).
No mention of the Pre news?
Apple doesn't do mass markets and they won't licence their operating system to people who would, so they're not really a threat to Microsoft. Think about what Balmer said in his interview not long ago, where he was talking about small markets and big markets. Basically it's Linux (under the name of Android) threatening Windows (Mobile) business model yet again.
Microsoft favorite business is selling software _wholesale_ to hardware manufacturers. Manufacturers would rather not pay the "Microsoft tax" but Windows is what people expect of the computers they buy, because they're used to it. But when you look at the mobile space, most people have no preference and are willing to use something other than Windows.
Microsoft doesn't sell smartphones, and Apple doesn't provide a mobile OS wholesale to manufacturers.
