Sitting current kids down in front of Atari's "Adventure" from 1978 practically qualifies as child abuse I think. Reading how stunned the kids are to find out that in Galaga, when you lost all your lives… You had to start again. Priceless. Games have become easier, that's a fact. Just go and emulate the 8-bit system of your choice and realise that we're a bunch of wusses now…
