We don't expect to see BenQ taking on the major digicam players anytime soon, but the company is showing that it wants to be taken seriously in the point-and-shoot sector, and to prove it, they're showing off no fewer than six models at CeBIT. The pack is led by the X610, a 6 megapixel shooter that BenQ bills as the world's slimmest 6-megapixel camera with a 3-inch LCD (not to be confused with the world's slimmest 5 megapixel cam with a 3-inch LCD, or the world's slimmest 6 megapixel camera with a 2.5-inch LCD, of course). The X610 also features the standard point-and-shoot specs: 3X optical zoom, 30 fps VGA movie mode and USB 2.0. The rest of the lineup is divided into three series: the Elegance series includes the previously announced 6-megapixel E600, which has a rotating lens that BenQ says makes zooming faster (pictured) and 5-megapixel E520 . The Classic series features the 5-megapixel C530 and 6-megapixel C30, and the Performance series features the P500, which has a 5X optical zoom.
