Apple wants to evict domain squatters

Apple has had a continuing problem with domain squatters over the years, often paying good money to grab such internet domain names as,, and others from people who have nabbed those names. Now the company is filing a complaint with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in order to try to gain ownership of and points to a site that asks you to fill out an online survey for a chance to win "valuable prizes," while just shows a common holding page. We do not recommend filling out the survey, by the way.

What's odd is that Apple chose to hit these two domains, while others -- including and -- are still in the hands of cybersquatters who are apparently waiting for Apple to pay them a lot of spendolas for those domain names.
