WRUP: Hearthstone for life?

Hearthstone

As we wrap up another week and look forward to a new one, we're forced to ask ourselves: What R U Playing? That's what the weekend is for, right? Playing. (Or, perhaps, doing house chores, but when you get old enough, that feels like playing, too.)

Are you still playing Hearthstone? What's good? What's bad? I find myself wishing for more emote options, and for a shorter turn timer. The length of time some people take make the game nearly unplayable to me, at points. I got things to get done!

Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) I'm out in San Francisco for a bit, so no gaming for me. Except my nightly ritual of playing Hearthstone before bed. That hasn't changed and won't anytime soon. My complaints about the game are all superficial. I'm enjoying it very much.

Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) This weekend is going to be spent writing and probably playing some WoW -- I just boosted a hunter and I have to figure out how to play it again. And find it some cool pets. I'm still playing Hearthstone off and on -- usually I just hop on when I find myself with a sudden absence of things to do. This does not happen often! I'm actually just fine with the lack of emote options. It makes me want to introduce my dad to the game and see how he likes it, because there's little worry of random people suddenly swearing at my father. I could do with a shorter turn timer, or better yet, maybe it would be cool if they could introduce like, speed matches. For those that like the challenge of thinking really fast, and those without a ton of time to play. That could be fun, right?

Allison Robert (@AllisonRobert) Working on more pet battle and mount collection achievements this weekend. If I'm not doing that, I'm watching the World Cup rather than getting thrashed in Hearthstone.

Elizabeth Harper (@Faience) Still loremastering it up. How long have I been working on this? It feels like forever.

Kristin Marshall (@kristin) Playing a bit of WoW and maybe some Hearthstone. When it comes to Hearthstone, I go in binges. I'll feel super motivated to work on my rank, start playing for a while, and then quit in a huff. I need more patience and probably more time to burn. At the very least I like to complete dailies to keep the gold rolling in. I get a bit frustrated at the metagame most of the time, always trying to keep up with frequent changes. Running into the same decks over and over can be frustrating, but the timer doesn't really annoy me. I pass the time by clicking on the board (there are cute animations!).

Matthew Rossi (@matthewwrossi) Writing, not playing much of anything except the Alpha if it comes back up. Looking forward to Shadowmoon Valley. I just got an Xbone as an anniversary gift, so any suggestions for games I should get for it would be welcome. Never played Hearthstone in the first place. Just not the game for me.

Sarah Pine (@ilaniel) This weekend I'll be playing some WoW--I've just rolled a pandaren priest and am having fun with that--and watching World Cup matches. My husband is a big soccer fan and he always gets really excited by the World Cup, so it's an event in our household. As for Hearthstone...I'm not playing it so much these days, but when I do pick it up I have a lot of fun. I just tend to get played out on Hearthstone a lot faster than for other games, for whatever reason.

The weekend is the perfect time to kick back, relax and enjoy some game time. Are you an achievement junkie? Can't get enough raiding? Rolling a new alt? Considering taking the leap into roleplaying? Whatever your favorite way to play World of Warcraft, let us know in the comments what you're playing this weekend!
