WRUP: MMO resolutions

Welcome back to Massively's What Are You Playing, the game in which we tell you what we're playing this weekend and you tell us your MMO resolutions for the year and which ones you've already failed to keep three days in.

Anatoli Ingram, Columnist

@ceruleangrey: In honor of the new year, I'll be playing something completely different! Actually, no, it'll be Guild Wars 2 and Final Fantasy XIV, as usual. Look, FFXIV is offering sheep hats, and they wiggle. I'm a simple man.

Bree Royce, Editor-in-Chief

@nbrianna/blog: I fully expect to be playing Marvel Heroes this weekend. What I'm doing with World of Warcraft is up in the air. I haven't been playing it, not even the Garrisons Online part, over the break thanks to all the travel and family hubbub, and I haven't missed it at all, which is something I'm going to have to face at some point.

Eliot Lefebvre, Contributing Editor

@Eliot_Lefebvre/blog: With the quiet news that Final Fantasy XIV's next patch is launching on January 20th, I've got some stuff to do in prep work, and that'll be fun. I'm also beginning to clear out the last maps in Dragon Age: Inquisition, and once I'm done with that I can play some Beyond Earth and A Link Between Worlds. It'll be a fun weekend.

Justin Olivetti, Contributing Editor

@Sypster/blog: One of my new year's resolutions is to try a new MMO or give an older one another chance every month this year, so January's pick will be Trove. Hence, I'm going to tap into my brightly colored sandbox inner child and see how the updates to this game have helped to flesh it out. Other plans include WildStar, The Secret World, and Marvel Heroes (Tippy-Toe says I must put in a plug for the only squirrel-friendly MMO out there).

Larry Everett, Columnist

@Shaddoe/blog: After having been invested in MMOs for most of the year, it's about time I played some more of the single-player games that I didn't get to play or finish playing, like Dragon Age: Inquisition and BioShock Infinite.

Mike Foster, Contributing Editor

@MikedotFoster/blog: Dota 2 and FFXIV. I'm actually taking a gaming weekend now that things with the new pup have settled down!

MJ Guthrie, Contributing Editor

@MJ_Guthrie/blog: I started the new year off in a totally new way: I dived into Shadow of Mordor! That's right, I forsook my MMORPGs for a look at a plain old RPG, and I am afraid that everyone's assessment of its addiction level is pretty dang accurate. I'll be spending a fair share of my weekend back in trying to avenge myself on a couple specific orc captains who owe their promotions to me. Of course, I cannot leave my MMOs long, so I'll be exploring in Landmark and sailing and farming a bit in ArcheAge as well.

At the start of every weekend, we catch up with the Massively staff members and ask them, "What are you playing this week?" (Otherwise known as: WRUP!) Join us to see what we're up to in and out of game -- and catch us in the comments to let us know what you're playing, too!
