The modular THeMIS mini-tank can be whatever you need it to be

The unmanned vehicle is equal parts hoverboard and tank.

Estonian defense contractor Milrem debuted its modular unmanned ground vehicle, dubbed the THeMIS (Tracked Hybrid Modular Infantry System), at the Singapore Airshow on Wednesday. The THeMIS is basically a remote-controlled platform on tank treads. It can be easily modified for any number of different missions, like combat, engineering, reconnaisance or Search and Rescue.

"Unmanned systems will play a significant role in the development of military capabilities in future," Milrem CEO Kuldar Väärsi said in a statement. "Within the next 10 years, we will see smart ground systems complimenting the human troops during joint missions. We are excited to be in cooperation with ST Kinetics for THeMIS ADDER [the weaponized version shown above], and we're sure that this universal UGV concept will effectively supplement defence capabilities on a battalion level."

Milrem developed the THeMIS system in conjunction with the Estonian National Defence College. It is already undergoing field testing and is expected to be ready for production by the end of the year.
