Apple is still lining up shows for its upcoming streaming video service, and its latest might not be quite what you expect. Deadline and Variety have learned that the tech giant has ordered a drama "inspired" by the real story of Hilde Lysiak (shown at left), the preteen reporter who broke news of a murder in her self-run newspaper despite harsh internet criticism. The fictional version focus on a girl who moves to a small town and uncovers a cold case that seemingly everyone else wants to stay unsolved.

It's executive produced by Dana Fox (The Wedding Date) and Dara Resnik (Castle). You might not expect the director: it's helmed by Jon Chu, best known as the director of multiple Step Up movies as well as the upcoming Crazy Rich Asians.

There's no mention of who will star in the show or when it will premiere, but rumors have pointed to Apple debuting its service in March 2019. We wouldn't be surprised if the series took longer to appear given the short lead time. Whenever it arrives, it's evident that Apple will have a wide range of programs for you to watch -- and it's not afraid to spend money on the associated talent.
