Verizon's new Pay As You Go cellphone service
We're not sure exactly how this is so massively different from FREEUP that it warranted an entirely new name (it's mainly just a little cheaper, with rates that are the same no matter what time of day it is), but Verizon Wireless has a brand new prepaid cellular service called Pay As You Go (a name which gets big points for creativity). The service comes bundled with Kyocera's KX414 cellphone, with calls costing $0.10 a minute after a $0.25 connection fee, with the first minute costing $0.35, and text messages cost 5 cents each.
