Lady-Comp
While we know most of us are probably not amping to get a day-by-day blow on our fertility options, Lady-Comp could be your friendly ovulation-meter. The computer wakes the user with a musical alarm, delivers a thermometer for body temp checking, and sends a "traffic light alert" — a green light day means you can throw all caution to the wind with the age ol' "rhythm method", and a red light day says don't even think about going Trojan-free or you'll get a bun in the oven. Too bad the $2,170-device would probably make you feel like a hormone-obsessed hippie, and besides which, everyone knows body temps can rise and fall for non-fertility reasons too.

A couple hoping to have a baby might interpret it in reverse:
Red for Cancel other plans, tonight's the night to make a baby; and Green for Go ahead and work late or watch late night TV, it's the wrong time for making a baby.
The Lady-Comp is a mini-computer that accurately tracks the fertility patterns during a women's cycle. It can recognize abnormal temperature fluctuations and does not include these in its calculations. It costs around 400.00USD not 2000.00USD. It is an excellent, safe, reliable method of natural family planning. Please get your facts straight!!!

It is silly that we have taken an old family planning method (counting days) and because it is calculated on a hi tech device, we think it it "new". There is a modern Natural Family Planning method that IS effective, and does not require the use of drugs or devices....check it out at www.canfp.org
There are MUCH more accurate ways to determine the fertile time than lady comp----without the expense, simply investment in educating oneself!
I've been a lady comp user for over 2 years and I'm very happy with it. I chose this option so I wouldn't have to burden my body with hormones. I've been on the pill before and it was not so convenient when I was almost falling asleep and I still had to drag myself to go and take it, not to mention the side effects. The device is very practical and you can take your temperature also when you're half asleep. When it's red, use a condom - it's that easy. I'm glad I found about it.
