Disc Hub to save your most-used CDs and DVDs
Ok, so it's not quite as glamorous as some of the other
stuff we've got lying around here but, hey, the Disc Hub caught our eye anyway. It's a plastic rack with
neoprene-lined slots for holding those discs you never seem to put away, instead of stacking them haphazardly all
over your living room, thus saving them from the ravages of spilled soda (Netflix likes them enough to give them
away for free with the opening of a new account). The Hub holds eleven discs, each slightly off-center so you can
get to them easily, and comes in four colors, including "Storm Trooper," which, while a blatant marketing ploy,
still kinda gets us.

Well good idea but it's not really useful nowadays with digital collections and music services like Itunes.
pmusu, you're right. as it isnt compatable with DVDs, software discs, or even games this cant be of much use to anyone :p
That's a bit spendy, don't you think? Maybe for free, but I already have a netflix account.
Thanks Engadget for the review!
As for the comments, We agree, if you are completely digital this isn't a product for you but if you have a great DVDs library, still listen to CDs and find yourself burning many more, than you will come to love the simplicity of the DiscHub.
Also, right now we are running a introductory promotion where you can get a DiscHub for $7.99 which also includes shipping & handling.
Actually I don't agree with pmusu or chris, I think this product is quite appropriate for the times: given the banalisation of technology, people are starting to take less care of their discs in general (be they CDs, DVDs, or software). Users are more sloppy, which leads to more damaged discs - this product helps users take better care of their discs without going through the hassle of looking for a box. This is a good example of design that is based on an understanding of new behaviours and needs.
I think this is a great product. I read about it in my RSS reader and immediately clicked the link. I am one to have cds sitting right-side-up and up-side-down all over my desk as well as in piles with no organization. This will allow me to make mixes, pull out cds, or set aside dvds without wrecking the discs. I'm excited to get this product. 8.00 is not a bad price.
I've lost a lot of CD's when i was playing some music in party, u know that's very difficult to take care about them... and digital for dj's is not for tomorrow !!! So i think it's a very useful product, and very well thinking. I encouraged people who got similars ideas... go on for the useful product !
There is a much cheaper product out there.

And they have a disc shredder which is great for destroying old client data.
