The CirculaFloor
We try to keep the Star Trek references to a minimum (it's just too easy, you know?), but we're not sure it's
possible to write about the CirculaFloor, a movable floor that lets someone with a virtual reality helmet walk in any
direction while remaining in the same place, without making at least a passing mention to the holodeck. We're having
one installed here at Engadget HQ tomorrow.

Didn't phillip t. break this news from E3?
Why not just setup a large solid sphere (with a door) on rollers/ball-bearings, that a person can enter. The size should be big enough such that the average person feels they're walking on a flat surface rather than the inside of a ball. I don't imagine that would need to be too big?
Of course the 'solid' sphere should be perforated with small air holes and the VR equipment can be wirless.
because knees aren't supposed to have lateral movement.
all i have to say is virtual reality games. once this gets improved a bit (ie. you don't need to take baby steps) this could revolutionize the way we play games.
How can I get a CirculaFloor?
I can't seem to find a store for it.
How did engadget get one?
