The RoboMaid
Ok, maybe you don't wanna drop a hundred or two hundred bucks on a robotic vacuum cleaner. But for $20 you can pick
up the RoboMaid, which we're 100% positive isn't a vacuum (it uses electrostatic pads to wipe your floor clean like a
Swiffer) and fairly sure isn't technically a robot either (it has a sensor to detect walls and that's about it). On the
other hand, it is advertised on TV, if that helps inspire your confidence, and apparently it's also "from
Europe".
[Thanks, Adam]

im also from europe, and i dont do a good job of cleaning either. maybe you're onto something there.
keith @ Dec 19th 2005 12:04AM
The following information is on the electrostatic pad section:
You should use fresh adhesive strips (tape) each time you use your NaturalBra.
Note Important additional information: For maximum adhesion, it is highly recommended that you clean the inside of the cups with rubbing alcohol prior to the first use of your NaturalBra. Allow it to dry before applying the adhesive tape.
So do they use these pads in the robomaid and for a bra????
Chris Gunton @ Dec 19th 2005 12:04AM
or the robomaids bra?

It is very handy. but, my motor died in one month use. sort of sucks.

I love the robomaid, but have run out of refills. Where can I get refills?

This looks EXACTLY like a dog toy my parents picked up at a local fleamarket called a "squirrel ball". Except in this case, instead of the little battery powered ball having a fuzzy tail with glued-on eyes, this one has a ring with a Swiffer pad on it. (Go figure). If it behaves anything like that toy did, it will roll around uncontrollably for about a week, and then die a miserable grinding death (after sucking down 4 sets of D batteries). No way in hell that thing "knows" where its been because that would require a lot more engineering and cost quite a bit more than a measly 20 clams. Leave it to the "As Seen on TV" people to come up with another bulls##t product to sucker people into buying.
Rav @ Dec 19th 2005 12:04AM
The ball inside actually IS a reclaimed squirrel ball, the little hooks still remain.

According to what I can see on net the Robomaid product has never been sold in Europe. the advertisement saying "coming from Europe" is a false statement... Unless anyone can tell me where this robomaid can be ordered in Europe!
I live in France.
Thanks for any information about French or other european reseller

I don't appreciate having spent what I did (and having waited for quite some time before delivery!) only to see you selling "Robomaid" for only $10. It's insulting and unfair.
Bill @ Dec 19th 2005 12:04AM
The Robomaid is pretty cool, but the electrostatic pads are a ripoff!!
I saw the ad on TV and thought it would be pretty cool as my wife always complains about the "Dust Bunnies." Anyway, the ad claimed it was only $10+S&H. A bargain (and too low priced in my opinion). So I orderedit and knowing that it would be about $18. Then a popup window asked if I wanted additional back-up pads. I clicked yes and without telling me how much the pads were, I was charged with an additional $56.88!!! In fact, the shipping was a big farce as I was double billed for shipping as it camein the same box and probably didn't weigh much more than the original robomaid If you include shipping and handling, you are looking at the pads costing approximately $0.39/ea. They probably cost a fraction of a penny to produce. My wife, while pleased initially with Ms.Robomaid, was ticked off with the charge on the pads and will find an alternative. We are returning the extra pads.
Overall, the product is very neat, but the company should charge more for the product and not pull this bogus marketing tactic on unsuspecting consumers.

Dear Robomaid Custom Service,
I would like to know when you are supposed to send me your product, a robomaid. I ordered it 12/28/2004. You confirmed it and you promised a delivery in 4-6 weeks.
But I saw that you were not late in withdrawing the amount from my account. The date was 1/5/2005.
If you cannot deliver your product in one week, please cancel my order and send my many back shortly. My order number is:
2004122821181229
I hope you will not leave me without answer.
Otherwise I would be very disappointed.
I have sent this massage with replay to you. But it jumped back, with this massage.

I received the order I placed and was shocked to see the amount they charged me for shipping this 3 pound piece of $#%*&!
My total was 92.86 if you subtract the shipping charges my total would have been $57.94. I know the Post Office has raised their rates, but that is a lot of money. Should have cost like $8.00 at the most to ship this stuff.
I haven't tried the robomaid yet. I'm trying to find a phone number to call these crooks so I can return it. But then I would still be out the shipping cost Plus I will have to pay shipping to return it.
Don't be tempted by the commercial to buy this. It is a big Big RipOFF!

I just placed an order for one robomaid which was supposed to cost me $10.00 plus $7.95 shipping, I entered my charge card number and then the cost showed up on the screen for over ninty dollars, they has added an extra robomaid and 6 sets of the pads that I didn't order and said thanks for your order, I have been unable to correct this as I didn't order anything other then the one robomaid which was to come with 12 pads and the a/c adapter. I don't like to be took and I feel as though I have. When I called I was told that I would have to call Mon. thru Fri at 1-973-227-8777. People such as this shouldn't be allowed to sell over TV or the internet. J. Leavitt

I just seen the ad on TV. I thought it looked great so I phoned and was given the special price of $15. not $10. I sure wish I hadn't phoned now because I ordered 2 and I would have saved $10. If I could get my robomaids for the $10. price I might tell others. I sure hope the guy that posted his comment re: his motor burnt out in a month is wrong.
Also I guess the pads used on this machine is only good for 1 time. I wonder where I'll be able to pick up the pads because it they are only good for a 1 time use I am going to need a lot for my big house.
Joe @ Dec 19th 2005 12:04AM
I bought a robomaid and some of my friends saw it at my house and want to buy it also. Do I get anything for showing it to friends that buy it: Like some free pads or something like that. If you don't have this policy in place it might be a good idea to do it.
mork @ Dec 19th 2005 12:04AM
nice, anyone have a follow-up review? are the pads effective at picking up dust and other dirt?
roxy @ Dec 19th 2005 12:04AM
I was wondering about a cheap alternative for the robomaid pads. maybe some cheap dryer sheets? they look like they could be made out of the same stuff. Haven't tried it yet, but i'm going to.
Inventor @ Dec 19th 2005 12:04AM
If you look for Robomaid in Europe, you must look for the name Robomop. (The homepage is www.robomop.net). In Korea it is called Roboimoyo. It is not that bad. I love it!!! Of course I do.
Sam @ Dec 19th 2005 12:04AM
I take two swiffers and fold them in half and cut out the middle in a circle. Then I lay one one way and the other on top the other way. I think they work better than the pads.
Carlos G?ego @ Dec 19th 2005 12:04AM
I would like to have information on the robomaid, want to sell it, could you please contact me at my e-mail to let me know how many I can buy as a minimum order (100) at what price. thank you Carlos G?ego
Michelle @ Dec 19th 2005 12:04AM
Hi all,
Well, I'm not familiar with this product BUT, if you can access LTD Commodities online or through your work, you can buy the robomaid for $13.95 (no larger shipping cost than anything else the catalog sells) AND the replacement pads are only $4.95 for a 48 pc. set.

Does anyone know the out voltage of the charger? Ours has become separated and we don't know which charger is the right one.
Thanks
Mary T. Peterson @ Dec 28th 2005 12:38PM
Dear RoboMaid Custom Service
I received RoboMaid for Christmas (2005.) It is the best present I have ever had. Right now, it is busily cleaning up my livingroom. My floors are of softwood (patterned fir) and have never looked so good. My friend and I let it clean until the battery ran down and then charged it. One reason that the power goes is that people don't follow directions. I work with tools that have to be charged and the way to preserve the charging power is to let it get completely discharged before charging and then to watch it and turn the charger off as soon as the little battery picture on the ball stops blinking.
I have a large room where the RoboMaid can travel across the floor (never in the same pathway) for a long ways. It has only stopped once in about an hour and that is when a book rack leaned up on the wall fell on it. Otherwise, it has gotten itself out of all situations by the ball banging against the framework.
It is quite amazing.
Thank you,
Mary Peterson
