There's a new short film called Textual @traction about a man who finds a lost cellphone and ends up exchanging text
messages with a "mystery stranger". Not really a majorly innovative plot device in its own right these days, but the
filmmakers do employ one clever new use for text messaging: they never show actually show the text messages on screen,
instead you register right before showtime and all the messages are timed to be sent to your cellphone at the exact
same time as they're received by characters in the film. Might be one of the few times you won't be asked to switch off
your phone before a movie these days.
