iVan
At least some folks are finding some humor in the seemingly endless wrath that Mother Nature has been bringing
down on Florida lately:
Welcome to yet another hurricane, 145+ winds. Can ruin Mac, PC and iPod. The new Hurricane iVan.

don't have to worry about chits when you're rebuilding the whole state.
This is absolutely the least funny article you have ever posted. Some people here in Florida have lost some of their loved ones and you post a picture of something that took lives of the innocent. Just lost a long time fan.
you also lost a fan with Frances... how many will you lose with Ivan? or do you not care? grow up.
Hah, while recovering from a laughstroke just there, i am trying to type this.
Hey you grumpy people: a smile is always the best remedy for something bad! A joke makes you see the good side of life in bad times. those who cannot apreciate a joke should get themselves to a shrink. Ah well, they probably already go there anyway.
antoxicion@gmail.com, it is very unfortunate that some folks lose loved ones in natural disasters around the world every day. hurricanes twirl, volcanos erupt, swarms of locusts carry people away...the world is not a perfect place, but being bitter and angry does not do anything to make the world better. this parody that they posted was very funny, timely, and not in the least bit tasteless. maybe you have a little growing up to do yourself.
sue mother earth. sue apple. dont kill the messenger.
I live(ed) in Florida and had to flee from each hurricane. I'm not fleeing Ivan because I HAVE NOTHING LEFT. That said I find this post hilarious and it does somewhat comfort me while I type this from Atlanta where I am staying.
come on pepople, it's a parody. it is not a personal offence to those who suffered from this event, is just a different way of looking at it. you see, that's why I live in Brazil! we don't have tornadoes here, only acid parodies. cheers!
If you don't want to get hit by hurricane after hurricane, don't live where there are hurricanes EVERY YEAR. But every year, I watch the news and those ass pirates are surprised that their house have been blown away by yet another hurricane. I don't think you should be allowed to have insurance or anything like that. The government should not help you, nothing. We should take a lesson from Darwin and just have survival of the fittest. Bye bye stupid Floridians.
did you say SUE APPLE?!
LOL what you think they put these out!? ditz.
Why the F do people actually live down in Florida.. this happens every freakin 4 months and some hick is on TV telling us about how he lost his business renting Seadoos or sth.
Get it through your head: HURRICAINES EVERY COUPLE MONTHS=BAD
God Bless America.
good point, mike, I also could never figure out why people live near river banks that are prone to overflowing, or in areas that are at high risk in the event of forest fires or other natural disasters. Hasn't this sunken into peoples' thick skulls that just because a place looks nice doesn't mean it's a good idea to live there.
And there's all this wailing and gnashing of teeth about the tornados that touch down, or the hurricanes that destroy when all that it really takes is to pick someplace to live that's not prone to these kinds of disasters. Take Arizona for example. The weather here is nice all year round (except for monsoon season) and even then, all we get is a little rain and lightning. We don't have earthquakes, tornados, blizzards, blackouts, or floods. The only thing we have for natural disasters is forest fires, but the people that live up in the woods should know about the risk, and some places get sandstorms but that's not a disaster, only a rare inconvenience.
I live in Sarasota, FL and survived Hurricanes Charlie and Francis so far. Looks like iVan is going to miss us. The PARODY ad was hilarious. Just what we needed as we're all freaking out about our third hurricane in 30 days (never happened like this before.) I do not understand some of the vicious attacks on Floridians in the other posts. We have to put up with all the idiots that come down here each year to trash our beaches and clog our highways on their way to see Mickey Mouse.
I'm just north of the last guy, in Bradenton, Fla, and I have to agree, the iVan ad is funny stuff. As for the ignorant uninformed pathetic attempts at rants from some of the others who claim to not be able to fathom why people would want to live in Florida, I offer a few of many reasons: 1. No state income tax. 2. There are not hurricanes "every four months." The season runs from June 1 to Novemeber 30, with 90%+ of the activity coming in the july-september months. 3. Some look at Florida and see all the positives but then stay away because of hurricanes, but the rest of us say the hurricane chance does not outweigh the good parts of being a Floridian. 4. We don't have to go anywhere for Spring Break. 5. In october, november, and december, we'll be wearing shorts and sitting on the beach, thinking about you all in the desert and buried in the snow.
You see, some of us are willing to risk a little wind and rain to live in a place of sun and fun. For the record, I've lived my entire life, nearly 30 years, in various places on both the east and west coast of Florida and have never taken a direct hit from a hurricane. Thems the breaks, I guess.
oh yeah...one more reason...while you all are at work and school on Monday, we'll be barbecuing and consuming rum and cokes. ta ta!
...of your sense of humour. You should know that the creator of the image has not long evacuated out of the path of Ivan.

Funny post! :D
Check out mine about Ivan too by clickin on my name.
i rather live in florida, where one can atleast get ready for a hurricane.. not like other places where a freaking earthquake can happen when you least expect it, or freezing my balls off up north... florida kicks ass... "we don't run from hurricanes..... we DRINK them"
I live in Panama City and while we did not have a lot of damage from the actual hurricane there were quite a few tornados associated with the storm. One went right by my house but did very little damage- lost some shingles and pruned one of my trees for me. I am planning on moving to Arizona but only partly for the reasons above- I was planning on moving there anyway to be closer to my family.
I was not insulted by the ad in the least- but the persons who posted that living in Florida is stupid. The storms that have plagued Florida as of late did not affect just Florida but many north of us such as Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and even further up the coast. Is it stupid to live in these places too? They received a lot of damage up there. They lost lives as well.
I think that developers should not build on the coast because they take away the natural barriers and put lives and expensive property at risk.
*adjusts intelligence level*
One last note- the ones above who think living in Florida is stupid- you are STUPIDER ;P
