Knoll's Jellyfish laptop stand makes us weak in the knees
It may be slightly less functional than the Kensington Laptop Desktop USB, and slightly less minimalist than the Griffin iCurve, but we have to hand it to Knoll; you want it done right in the looks department, you go to them. The Jellyfish is a deceptively simple and plainly attractive device for lifting your laptop's screen up to eye level, a concept we're still not really into (we'd prefer to just get a proper monitor) but hey, we wouldn't say no if they tried to foist one on us.

Yet ANOTHER stand that renders the CD drive useless on front loading machines. How do they win any awards when they cut down a major function of the laptop?

well how many laptops have a front loading cd drive? i think you should blame the company that designed your laptop before you blame anyone else.

well... the laptop in the photo, to start with...
i.e., titanium pb's.

it looks nice, but it also looks like it will keep all the little mp3/cd/status buttons on the front of HP Pavilion laptops depressed. :-
and the oysterdock, unless it has some sort of fan system built into it (which the website doesn't mention), will probably cause any laptop in it to overheat in a matter of seconds.

I couldn't quickly find a price on this. But if it's anywhere near the price of the Oyster dock, it's much more expensive than the copy stand I use.
Go to http://www.fellowes.com/ and search for product # 21100 (their dynamic site doesn't lend itself to easy deep links). It cost about US$13 and can be folded and snapped into a 3 ring binder.
