Companies entering cellphone P2P file sharing waters cautiously

Perhaps they learned something from the lawsuits still raging from the Napster days. Perhaps they are learning how to cash in on the desire to share files. Either way, companies like NewBay Software are releasing P2P sharing networks for cellphones that are not only not free, but also closely monitored for suspicious activity. The idea is nice: allow cellphone users to share ringtones, games, and songs. The execution, however, is less-than enticing: micropayments, monthly subscription charges, and lots of eyes on what you're transfering. Meh.
