The AOpen XC Cube AV media-centric small-form-factor PC

AOpen XC Cube AV

ExtremeTech spends some time with the XC Cube AV, AOpen's new small-form-factor media-centric PC which comes with a remote control and some Windows Media Center knock-off software. The XC Cube AV is still on the barebones tip, but it is small enough to not ruin that sleek minimal thing you're going for in the living room, and it has an LED screen on front that tells you what its current function is, like TV/recording, DVD, MP3/CD Music, etc. The put a 2.4GHz Pentium 4 processor, 512MB of RAM, a 200GB hard drive, and a DVD drive in there, but they didn't much care for the Instant-On software which is supposed to let you listen to music or watch a DVD or TV without having to actually boot up the computer.
