IBM getting out of the PC business?

IBM ThinkPad X40

An era is officially about to end: IBM is getting out of the PC game and is looking for a buyer for their PC business unit. They've been way behind Dell and HP for a while now, and have diversified into all sorts of other stuff, but it still seems somehow weird and wrong that one of the companies that basically helped invent personal computing has decided there's no future/money in it. And if you needed even more of sign of how much things have changed, one of the most likely buyers appears to be Lenovo, a company you might never have heard of before, but which just happens to be the largest PC manufacturer in China. Doesn't necessarily mean an end to the ThinkPad or anything like that (or even a decrease in quality, since ThinkPads are already built in China), but nobody knows what a potential buyer might end up deciding to do.
